What temperature of water is right for Matcha? What is steaming water?
The right temperature of the water for matcha should be around 70 to 80 Celsius. As otherwise, the tea will burn and will become bitter. So, it is best, to always prepare matcha tea with water below 80 degrees C, and above 70. If you do not have a temperature regulated kettle, when you see that the kettle is blowing off steam, that is the right moment to turn the kettle off. That means steaming water, never boiling water for matcha tea.
