Matcha Face Mask Recipe - Matcha Oishii

Taking care of your skin is something that you will be grateful as you age. When I was about 16 years old, I remember going to the dermatologist after having gotten what I thought was the perfect tan by lying under the sun for hours... Needless to say, she was furious with me for having done that, and said to me "in 10 years you will look like your friend's grandmother". Ever since I really pay close attention to the care I give to my face and my family. And yes... you probably guessed it right, this does include not lying under the sun anymore, but that's just me...

When I started my matcha journey, over 16 years ago, I was grateful to know I was nurturing my skin from within. Matcha powder is good for your skin because it is filled with a very high amount of antioxidants and amino acids that, if consumed on a regular basis will have your skin glowing and looking young and better than ever. What Does a Green Tea Mask Do for Your Face? - Matcha Oishii

What does a green tea mask do for your face?

Let's mention some of the benefits of matcha on your skin.

  •  Combat Free Radicals

The very high amount of antioxidants that matcha has, after all, it is the superfood that has the highest number of antioxidants in the world, help your skin battle the free radicals and prevent damage from the UV rays. That's why if you apply a matcha face mask, your skin minimizes inflammation and prevents skin damage.

Not just that, but a matcha face mask also helps you absorb better vitamin D, which is essential for your skin.

So, instead of sun tanning my face now, I do matcha face masks, and the results are much more satisfying.

  •  Elasticity and Skin Tone

Using matcha on your skin will reduce your skin's inflammation, and because of the very high levels of epigallocatechin gallate also known as EGCG that it contains, which are the result of the catechins that are collected in the plant of the green tea leaf, this powerful antioxidant will help you promote your skin's elastin and also boost a firmer skin tone. Matcha will make your skin more elastic, that is why many say that matcha tea is anti-aging! So now you know the answer to how does matcha help with glowing skin!

  •  Reduce Puffiness and Acne on Your skin

Matcha is antimicrobial and antibacterial, so when you apply a matcha face mask on your skin, you combat acne on your skin and help reduce puffiness and inflammation.
